Bienvenue en France
Our staff will meet you at Lyon airport. From here we’ll transfer you in our private shuttle to our hotel in Albertville, where we will spend the next 7 nights. After checking in we’ll have lunch where you’ll get a chance to meet your fellow Tour de France fans. Then it’s a short orientation meeting where we’ll run through the plans for the upcoming week. After lunch and check in you will have time to explore the small village nestled in the Alps. It’s hosted many Tour de France and Dauphine stages, plus the 1992 Winter Olympics and is a great base from which to travel to the stages. Enjoy an easy evening and a group dinner, before the action packed days ahead!
Tour de France LIVE Viewing: Stage 15
VIP Finish line - Grand Colombier
Today we’ll witness the thrill of a finish as VIPs, which aims to be an epic battle on the Grand Colombier! We’ll head up nice and early, to soak up the atmosphere and see if we can see some of our favourite commentators. Mountain top finishes are full of ambience, music and frivolities! After lunch we will head to our VIP area by the finish line, a 3-tiered viewing area with complimentary appetizers, drinks & official TDF photos. A tour of the technical village will allow us to get up close to the finish line, see the inside of the media and TV crew area (maybe Phil & Jens will say hi), view the podium and get a real insight into the arrival area. Back to our viewing area, we will await the riders. We are in for a treat as today as the cyclists will have faced some tough cols along their way, before they hit the 17km Col du Grand Colombier and it promises to be intense as they battle it out to the summit!
Meet a Pro Team
Today we travel to a team hotel and will have an exclusive behind the scenes visit of a pro Team! A pro Team Executive will give you an amazing insight into how a pro team works. You will see the team bus, see the bikes and equipment and be let in on some team secrets. It’s an absolute favourite of our Spectators’ Trip - a real VIP experience giving unparalleled access to the team.
Tour de France LIVE Viewing: Stage 16
VIP access to Team Paddock and Start Village
As an Official Tour Operator, we have secured a visit of the ‘Team Paddock’ and Departure Village stage start. The Departure Village allows you to see sponsors and gain VIP entry, perhaps even meeting past winners of the race, plus journalists like Bradley Wiggins and Steve Porino, grabbing coffees and catching up, pre team arrival.. Then, it’s onto our favourite - the paddock is where all the cyclists and teams congregate pre-race. The area offers fantastic opportunities to get up-close to the riders and Tour celebrities, as well as getting a first-hand view of the inner workings of the Tour de France. This is the place to get those all-important autographs and pictures with the Tour celebrities and riders. It’s one of the most popular moments on our Spectator Trips!
Tour de France LIVE Viewing: Stage 17
VIP Viewing Col de la Loze
Are you ready for some real life, roadside, mountain action- just as you have watched on television for years? It’s Col day! We’ll be heading to a private viewing point in a prime position, where you can enjoy the wild Tour de France scene from the comfort of our VIP area. Food, drinks, and satellite TV race coverage will keep you entertained as we wait for the peloton to approach. It’s a spectator favorite! Don’t forget your flags!
Tour de France LIVE Viewing: Stage 18
VIP Viewing Relais Etape in Roche sur Foron
It’s stage 18 and today you will experience another VIP experience in the Relais Etape! The Relais Etape is situated on the course in a key location and allows us to view the race in comfort. A 3-course meal, free bar, live coverage on TV, entertainment and a prime roadside spot… today’s race has some epic climbs and we will be able to watch the action unfold on live screens until the cyclists pass right in front of us in the flesh, You can feel the excitement build as you watch official vehicles zoom by, hear the helicopters above as they track the cyclists getting nearer and nearer and get a roadside view as they pass by. A VIP gift rounds up the amazing day.
Tour de France LIVE Viewing: Stage 19
VIP access to Team Paddock and Start Village
You have enjoyed every VIP experience there is to enjoy so what more can we do? How about another visit to the stage start! There is so much to enjoy you will absolutely appreciate another chance to experience this thrilling event. Now you’re a pro at spotting the pros and the time lines of the start village, you can get those all important photos you may have missed the first time. You’re being truly spoilt…
Today as the race has it’s penultimate day, we avoid the chaos and head North to Paris, in time to watch it unfold from the luxury of our Palacial hotel! As opposed to rushing up in the very early hours of the final day we like to arrive the day before and our luxury Hotel is far too stunning and exquisite not to spend an extra night there. We aim to arrive early afternoon so you can head to the bar and to watch the brutal Time Trial live on television. It’s the only way to see all the action. You can also choose to watch it in the luxury of your rooms. In the evening we will have a dinner cruise on the river Seine. What a magical way to spend the evening and see the Paris attractions twinkling in the night sky. The atmosphere will be amazing the day before the Tour de France arrives in town.
Tour de France LIVE Viewing: Stage 21
VIP Access to the Rive Gauche Tribune on the Champs-Elysees in Paris
Good morning Paris! No rush for us today! This morning you can have free time to recuperate or have a leisurely wander around the Parisian streets taking a coffee in one of the many chic neighbourhoods. Early afternoon we’ll head over to the Champs Elysees where our Tour de France hostess will escort us to the VIP Rive Gauche Viewing area. Champagne aperitif, open bar, cocktail party, French culinary show and live entertainment are all included in this fantastic VIP package leading up to the race! The riders will enter Paris for the traditional circuit race around the Champs-Elysees.
After the race, there’s a great photo and meet opportunity as the teams take a celebratory ride down the Champs-Elysees and the Tour de France sadly draws to a close for another year.
A truly memorable day after a truly memorable once in a lifetime trip!
Unfortunately our Tour de France Experience must come to an end. We hope to see you back in the future. Join us on a Thomson Spectator Trip to La Vuelta, World Cycling Champs, Tour Down Under, Spring Classics, or AMGEN Tour of California
